The stars of Pennyworth on their favourite Batman villains and a much darker Season Two.

The world of Batman is a busy place.

Between the comic books, video games, movies, and TV shows, the Caped Crusader is a busy guy.

We had previously been given Gotham, a prequel show that takes place in the years before Batman arrived to clean out the crime from the city, and Pennyworth is a prequel even to that show, set in 1950s and 1960s London.

It tells the story of Alfred Pennyworth (played by Jack Bannon – The Intimidation Game) as a young man, how he first came to cross paths with Batman’s dad Thomas  Crane (Ben Aldridge – Flea Bag), and the first signs of supervillainy in the world, one of which is the psychotic Bet Sykes (Paloma Faith – The Voice).

As the cast and crew prepare to head back to set to begin filming season two, and to celebrate the arrival of season one for home entertainment, I was lucky enough to chat to some of the cast involved in the show, and we covered a whole host of conversation topics.

Wanna know which of the famous Batman villains is their favourite of all time? They tell us here (and we made it hard and didn’t let any of them pick The Joker).

Wanna know what it feels like to make Alfred Pennyworth a sex symbol? We chat about that too (which is no offence to Michael Caine or Jeremy Irons!).

Ever wondered how much fun it is to be a proper comic book villain? Paloma tells some very interesting stories in how she based her evil character on real women from her own life.

And what to expect from Season Two? Well… you’ll have to watch the interview to find out…

Pennyworth Season One is now available to buy in stores, online, and on the Sky Store.
