There will be a drive-in cinema screening of Enchanted in Enniskerry next week

James Fenton

With Disenchanted currently being filmed in Enniskerry, the Co. Wicklow town is throwing it back to the original.

For one night only, Classic Drive in Cinema will present Enchanted, the 2007 Disney flick in which the story of Giselle and Robert began. Taking place at Monastery House in Enniskerry on Sunday, June 27 at 4pm, it’s sure to be a great weekend activity for all the family.

For those who don’t know, the story follows the beautiful princess Giselle (Amy Adams) who is banished by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon) from her magical, musical animated land and finds herself in the gritty reality of the streets of modern-day Manhattan. Shocked by this strange new environment that doesn’t operate on a ‘happily ever after’ basis, Giselle is now adrift in a chaotic world badly in need of enchantment.

But when Giselle begins to fall in love with a charmingly flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who has come to her aid – even
though she is already promised to a perfect fairy tale prince back home – she has to wonder: Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

Car passes for €27.50 , as well as popcorn and nachos (obvs) will be available to purchase in advance at classicdriveincinema.ie.
