One of the movies on TV this evening is one of the best Irish movies ever made.

What day is it? (checks calendar) Wednesday? No, that can’t right, this calendar must be broken. Is it really only Wednesday? Jeez.

At least there are some decent movies on the telly tonight to help kill a few hours…

The Two Faces of January – FilmFour – 7.05pm

Oscar Isaac stars as a conman who targets a married couple (Viggo Mortensen and Kirsten Dunst) on their holiday in Greece, but when a murder takes place at their hotel, all three find themselves to be suspects for the crime.

American Hustle – More4 – 9pm

Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner star in this Oscar-magnet drama about a conman who finds himself in the middle of a series of complicated double-crosses involving the FBI, the mob, a crooked politician, and his own vengeful wife.

Mechanic: Resurrection – FilmFour – 9pm

Jason Statham is forced into performing three assassinations, and making them look like accidents, or some bad guys will kill his girlfriend Jessica Alba.

Sisters – RTE Two – 9.35pm

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are sisters who decide to throw a long-overdue house party in their parents’ home before they get a chance to sell it. It is exactly the kind of house party we can’t have right now.

In Bruges – FilmFour – 11pm

Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson star in this ultra-dark comedy about a pair of Irish hitmen who take a short vacation in Belgium, and cross paths with some very colourful characters. Ralph Fiennes also stars as the world’s greatest swearer.

The Fugitive – TCM – 1.25am

Harrison Ford didn’t kill his wife. Tommy Lee Jones doesn’t care.
