There’s no denying that Daniel O’Donnell is one of Ireland’s cultural icons. Without him, we wouldn’t have some of the finest easy listening music of past 40 years, we wouldn’t have Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip and we certainly wouldn’t have the empty-headed Father Ted caricature Eoin McLove.
With that, there’s only one way to honour the man who defines the word ‘twee’. By putting his face on a bunch of cupcakes, of course. That’s what Cork Opera House has done ahead of Wee Daniel’s shows at the venue this week, as you can see for yourself in the picture below.

O’Donnell wraps up a run of three nights at the Opera House later this evening and if you’ve managed to get a ticket be sure and take a few home in a bag for the rest of us.
