A team of Sligo ice cream makers has just won prestigious gelato awards in Italy.
Yes, that’s right – ITALY. They beat the royal family of gelato! Hon Sligeach!
Michael O’Dowd, owner of Gelati in Enniscrone, was invited to enter the Mostra Del Gelato competition in Longarone, Italy just last week. This is one of the oldest ice cream competitions in the world – and he only went and took home the award for the ‘Best Oreo Gelato’ in 2016.
He also came second in the ‘Overall Masters’ ranking – the big dog of all of the awards.
What a man!
A great day for the parish.
And an even better day for Gelato. Massive congratulations to all in Gelati, Enniscrone.
