Zara Phillips thinks Irish artist Chris O’Hara is a “genius”.

Irish artist Chris O’Hara has gotten the royal seal of approval as his artwork has found a new home with Zara Phillips. Known for his abstract pieces, his most recent work has found a new home taking pride of place Princess Anne’s daughter.

Winning the opportunity to house an original Chris O’Hara at an auction, Zara was initially outbid for another painting Chris had donated. Commissioning him to create a custom piece for her home the painting is every bit as bright and colourful as you’d expect from a piece titled ‘Funfair’.

Apparently as excited about the piece as Chris was, Zara thanked him for the masterpiece, saying: “Thank you so much. I absolutely love it, it’s perfect. You’re a genius!”

Also including Zara’s daughter’s names, Lena and Mia, it took Chris a total of three months to complete. Fast becoming one of the country’s most prominent abstract artists, he’s been commissioned for over 1,000 paintings – 250 of them this year alone. Safe to say he’s been fairly busy, so.
