Three Toy Show stars to bring the “most exciting news ever” to the children of Ireland this week

James Fenton

It’s a big week for Irish children as schools begin to reopen but according to Ryan Tubridy, it’s about to get even bigger.

The Late Late Show host has been speaking about this Friday’s episode and has promised the return of three Toy Show legends – namely space-mad Adam King, Saoirse Ruane and Michael Moloney, who sang alongside Dermot Kennedy on the 2020 edition of the festive special.

Speaking on last Friday’s edition of the Late Late Show, Tubridy said: “Adam and his dad David will be joining me here next week as will Saoirse Ruane and her mum, and the brilliant Michael McLoughlin who sang so memorably with Dermot Kennedy on the night. Adam, Saoirse, Michael, they will be bringing the most exciting news ever to us. Suffice to say that the children of Ireland will have six and a half million reasons to be cheerful. You donated to our Toy Show appeal so trust me you’ll all be part of all that next week.”

During the 2020 edition of the Toy Show, the Irish public donated over €6 million to charities such as Barnardos, Children’s Health Foundation and Children’s Books Ireland and if Ryan’s words are anything to go by, that generosity will be repaid later this week.

What could it all mean? Well, you’ll just have to tune in Friday to find out.
