Seeing images of well-known faces when they were just a youngun can often be pretty disarming. Channing Tatum wasn’t always such a hunk, FYI. Some celebs though, look the exact same now as they did when they were a wee babe.
Case in point? Aww. It’s little 16-year old Ryan Tubridy reviewing books on U2 on RTE’s Scratch Saturday way back in 1989.
Ryan describes the different types of U2 fans including: the casual fan; the nouveau fan (or post Joshua Tree fan); and the obsessive fan.
Tubs doesn’t look any different AT ALL. Does this man age?!
See? He’s still a teenager at heart, too.
The four books Ryan reviews are: ‘The Legend of U2 and other things besides’; ‘Three Chords and the Truth’; ‘U2 Another time another place’; and ‘Unforgettable Fire’, incase you wanted to pop down to the local library for a nose.
The video clip is part of an ongoing online exhibition on the RTE Archives website, ‘Before They Were Famous’ which takes a look back at the early days of now famous Irish people in their early appearances in front of television cameras.
