The rise of Barry Keoghan continues as the young Irish actor has just landed the lead role in a new TV show in the U.S.

FX has announced it is bringing hit comic book series Y: The Last Man to the small screen with Keoghan set to play main character Yorick Brown, the last living human with a Y chromosome.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Dubliner will star alongside Diane Lane, Imogen Potts and Lashana Lynch and he tweeted his delight at the news to his 30,000 followers.

We wonder if Barry's new pal Prince Harry will be tuning in?
