WATCH: A Choir Of Cancer Survivors Provided One Of The All-Time Great Irish TV Moments Last Night

James Fenton

Wow.

There aren’t many more words that can do justice to this performance on Ireland’s Got Talent last night. In the first episode of the new series, judges were introduced to Sea Of Change, an all-female choir of cancer survivors aged between 34 and 70.

The ladies met through taking part in a record-breaking skinny dip last year and chose their name because they “went into a big huge sea and came out changed.”

After telling their story on stage, the group then broke into a rendition of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman. What seems to start off as standard IGT fare transforms into a hugely commendable message of body positivity as some of the women remove their tops towards the end of the performance.

The choir received a rousing reception with many audience members left in tears while Louis Walsh went all in by saying he reckons they’re going to win the competition.

Take eight minutes out of your day to enjoy the segment that’s sure to be repeated on Irish TV for years to come.
