Nothing says Friday night like settling into the sofa for some high-quality televisual entertainment and both RTÉ and the BBC have that in spades this week.

Quite often it's a toss-up between tuning into The Late Late Show or The Graham Norton Show and the decision usually boils down to one thing. The quality of the guests. This week, there's something for everyone on either side whether you fancy listening to one of Ireland's most decorated sport stars, one of the world's most famous sport stars of all time or quite possibly the most popular actor Hollywood has to offer right now.

So who's on which sofa? Lets start with Tubs shall we?

The Late Late Show

Seeing as 2018 is a hugely successful year so far for both Ireland and Leinster, it's quite fitting that Ryan will be chatting to one of the most successful men to ever don the famous green and blue jerseys. Recently-retired Jamie Heaslip will be on to chat about his hugely successful career which saw him sweep up three Six Nations titles for his country as well as three Heineken Cups with his province. He'll also be telling Ryan about how he is preparing for impending fatherhood and how he is coping with retirement.

The Royal Wedding is just weeks away and biographer Andrew Morton will be in studio to talk about what's in store for Meghan Markle while Eurovision winner Johnny Logan will be on ahead of Ireland's big night in Lisbon on Saturday.

As well as that, sixteen-year-old Ian O’Connell will discuss how a bike accident left him paralysed from the shoulders down last year and the stars of new documentary My Trans Life will share their stories on struggling with their identity.

The Graham Norton Show

Graham's sofa will boast plenty of Hollywood glamour this week as regular gas man Ryan Reynolds drops in to talk about upcoming cinema release Deadpool 2 while football superstar David Beckham will also be appearing.

Just this week, the unlikely pair teamed up for the below promotional trailer for the movie so there's sure to be plenty of craic between the two.

The two lads will be scooching down for singer Joan Armatrading and Reynolds' Deadpool 2 co-star Josh Brolin in what should be one of the most memorable episodes of the series.

The Late Late Show starts on RTÉ One at 9.35pm with The Graham Norton Show getting underway over on BBC 1 at 11.05pm. Which one will you be watching and which will you be recording? Let us know in the comments.
