Great News For Irish Fans As Rugby World Cup TV Details Announced

James Fenton

Ten months out from the 2019 Rugby World Cup, it has been announced that all of Ireland’s games will be broadcast live on RTÉ.

The national broadcaster has acquired the rights to screen 14 live games at the tournament, including each of Ireland’s pool matches and the knockout stages.

The station will also air a daily highlights show, allowing licence-payers to keep up to speed with all the goings-on throughout the competition.

The news comes after RTÉ agreed a sub-licensing agreement with primary rights holder eir Sport, who themselves will show all 48 tournament games live as well as well as daily highlights.

Ireland will come up against Scotland, Japan, Russia and Samoa in Pool A with our opening game taking place against the Scots on September 22 of next year.
