Even though Home And Away is set and filmed in the far-flung reaches of Australia, it's still very much a part of Irish life.
Since its launch in 1988, audiences here have been gripped to the dramatic storylines and sun-kissed characters featured in the Aussie soap.
In celebration of the show's 30-year anniversary, RTÉ will air a special one-hour show tonight called Home And Away: Endless Summer.
The programme will bring together all the unforgettable moments from the past three decades, most of which we've already documented in a previous article.
Irene is one of the few Summer Bay residents who has managed to stay alive in the show and has done so for 26 years! How she has survived with all these disasters is a miracle.
