Ben Affleck and Matt Damon may be spending some time in Meath next month as filming for an upcoming film is reportedly set to take place in the Royal County.

Bective Bridge is to be used for filming for upcoming movie The Last Duel, according to a report in The Meath Chronicle.

The report states that filming is scheduled at Bective Bridge between March 23-30 and the road will be closed during that period.

The Meath County Council has stated that the L-4010 road at Bective is “required to facilitate the commissioning and decommissioning of a film production set at Bective Bridge.”

The Ridley Scott-directed film has a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer and Ben Affleck.

It’s unconfirmed which, if any, stars will be present for the filming of scenes in Meath but the fact that both Damon and Affleck are stars as well as involved in the script and production could mean that they will be making the trip.

The film is based on the Eric Jager book, The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France, and is set for worldwide release next January.
