Love/Hate’s Darren Is Back In An Original Netflix Live Action Series

Darragh Berry

Robert Sheehan is one of Ireland’s most lovable characters and tbh, we haven’t recovered since Nidge had him clipped in Love/Hate all the way back in 2012 (yes it has been that long ago).

Well, ‘Darren’ is going to be starring in a new Netflix original series ‘The Umbrella Academy’. It’s based on the popular, Eisner award-winning comics and graphic novels created and written by Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) – it’s received four stars all around by most critics – illustrated by Gabriel Bá and published by Dark Horse Comics, the series is adding the Irish actor as ‘Klaus’ and stars Tom Hopper as ‘Luther,’ Emmy Raver-Lampman as ‘Allison’ and David Castañeda as ‘Diego’ and Aidan Gallagher as ‘Number Five’.

The live action series follows the estranged members of a dysfunctional family of superheroes as they work together to solve their father Reginald Hardgraves’ mysterious death, while coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities.

Sheehan’s ‘Klaus’ is a drug addict and lovable mess of a human being (sound like Darren?) and yet, if you ask him, any day now his life is going to turn around. He’s a classic “middle child” – a disarming pleaser who is seemingly everyone’s friend, but will rob you blind without thinking twice.

No trailer or release date has been given for this series as of yet but we can only imagine it’s going to be absolutely bitchin’.
