One Of The Greatest Irish Based Movies Of All Time Is On TV Tonight

Are you even Irish if you haven’t had a taste of a Guinness? If you haven’t at least sniffed a packet of Tayto? Or most of all, if you haven’t sat down and watched ‘Waking Ned’ in its entirety.

The film is on TV3 on Saturday night at 11:20pm and it is well worth staying up for.

Never seen it? 

Well, someone has just won the lotto in the local town of Tullymore and of course, with all small Irish towns, everyone is dying to find out who it is. 

There is just over 50 people in the village so tracking down the winner shouldn’t be that hard but there is twist and turns along the way and as with most prolific Irish films, the craic in it is 90.

It’s got 83% on Rotten Tomatoes and has been praised as “another one of those delightful village comedies that seem to spin out “Waking Ned Devine can proudly take its place alongside The Snapper”.

With praise like that, you just have to watch it now, don’t you?

David Kelly and James Nesbitt are just two of the familiar faces that you’ll see tonight if you stay up for it.
