One Of The Most Dreadful And Nonsensical Irish Movies Ever Is On RTÉ Tonight

Sometimes there’s nothing more fun than watching a truly awful film and spending two hours picking out all the holes in it.

There’s a perfect opportunity to do just that tonight as RTÉ 2 is showing the universally panned 2010 rom com Leap Year.

A mere six months after last airing this piece of cinematic drivel, the national broadcaster has decided to punish audiences once again. Leap Year stars Amy Adams as Anna Brady, a woman who heads to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend on February 29 (cos that’s what women do here).

A big huge feck-off spanner is thrown right into the works though as Anna meets a handsome Irish barman played by Matthew Goode, her life gets flipped turned upside down and, naturally, hilarity ensues.

To add to the fun there’s a whole heap of Irish stereotypes and stock characters to sink your teeth into.

Leap Year is the movie TIME Magazine called ‘the worst film of 2010’ but its one saving grace is that it’s always good for a ‘hate-watch’ if you want to gather some mates and take the absolute piss.

It starts on RTÉ 2 tonight at midnight and you can get a taster in the trailer below.
