"I've had my fun and that's all that matters."

Just one of hundreds of Father Ted quotes which are repeated on a daily basis across Ireland and beyond. It was of course delivered by Father Fintan Stack, an absolutely dreadful human being who replaced Father Jack at Craggy Island Parochial House when Jack was sent off to St. Clabbart's Hospital For Wayward Priests or "Jurassic Park", as it was known.

Like many of characters who graced the much-loved sitcom, Stack was portrayed by a well-known Irish figure and to many younger comedy fans on this island it was the role that cemented the presence of Brendan Grace in their consciousness.

Of course, Grace was famous long before he appeared on Father Ted, and tonight RTÉ will pay tribute to his stellar career with an hour-long documentary called Brendan Grace, Funny Man.

Celebrating the Dubliner's 50 years in the entertainment industry, the programme will feature contributions from a number of Irish faces from the worlds of entertainment and comedy, including Father Ted co-writer Arthur Matthews.

Be sure to let your mam and dad know as there will no doubt be lots of older Irish viewers who would love to tune in.

Brendan Grace, Funny Man airs tonight at 9.35pm on RTÉ One and you can get a sneak peek in the clip below.
