Sabrina The Teenage Witch Is Getting A Seriously Dark Makeover

Sarah

Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a daily ritual for all kids in the naughties; we’d leg it home from school to tune in to the antics of Sabrina, Zelda, Hilda, Harvey and, of course, Salem.

Seriously, the show was ICONIC. From her highschool days to meeting Josh in college, all 163 episodes made our lives a real joy.

The show was based off the Archie Comics which were first published in 1971, and ever since TV bosses rebooted a fellow Archie Comics creation, Riverdale, they’ve been looking at other things to ressurect.

And ohhhhhhhhh boy it’s looking like Sabrina the Teenage Witch is going to be next.

The CW, Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions has reportedly decided to focus on one particular comic series of Sabrina that was released in 2014, called Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

And it’s pretty feckin’ dark.

Sabrina’s dad, Madam Satan, returns from hell to seek revenge on the Spellmans, her lover, Harvey, is killed off and then revived with Sabrina’s dad’s soul trapped in his body.

It sounds like a seriously wild remake, and people are loving it.

Comics Alliance called the series: “A pretty incredible accomplishment. In a time when we’re getting some fantastic horror comics on the stands, Sabrina might just be the best of the bunch.”

It’s tipped for release in 2018, so we won’t have to wait too long.
