Saoirse Ronan To Have Love Affair With Major Hollywood Actress In New Movie

Saoirse Ronan has signed on to play Kate Winslet’s lover in new movie Ammonite, according to Deadline.

Set in a UK coastal town in the 1940s, the drama centres around the romance between paleontologist Mary Anning and a London woman of means to whom she must unexpectedly play nursemaid.

The movie will be produced by Iain Canning and Emile Sherman (Widows, Lion) alongside Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly (Lady Macbeth) and was developed by See-Saw, the BFI and BBC Films.

It will be written and directed by Francis Lee. Lee’s BAFTA-nominated God’s Own Country about the romance between two young male farmhands, was a critical hit.

No word on when to expect the film the hit theaters, but Deadline reports production will begin in March.
