Saoirse Ronan’s Dad Will Make His ‘Fair City’ Debut This Evening

We’ve seen our fair share of Saoirse Ronan on our telly screens lately, with her most recent role in Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird landing her an Oscars nomination in the Best Actress category.

However, it looks like it’s Saoirse’s turn to step out of the spotlight, as her father takes on a role in an Irish classic.

Paul Ronan, the 23-year-old’s father, is set to arrive to Carrigstown this evening, and we can imagine that Fair City fans are only delighted to welcome a familiar face.

He’ll be playing Anto Collins, who makes an appearance in the fictional Dublin suburb, much to the shock of his daughter Hayley.

Hayley soon begins to wonder why her father has suddenly appeared, and becomes determined to find out the reason.

Later this week Anto’s wife, former Love/Hate star Neili Conroy, is set to arrive.

Sounds like a classic Fair City drama if we do say so ourselves, and we can’t wait to see how Mr. Ronan gets on playing the part of Anto.

Fair City continues on RTÉ One tonight at 8pm.
