There's a lot of buzz in Hollywood and here at home about Lady Bird, an upcoming movie starring our own Saoirse Ronan.
There has plenty of whispers that Ronan's performance is of the Oscar-worthy variety and it appears the the hype may be real. The coming-of-age drama has become the highest-rated film in the history of movie review site Rotten Tomatoes.
The film has has a 100% 'fresh rating' after accumulating 170 positive reviews, beating the previous record set by 1999 Pixar animation Toy Story 2 which held 100% after 163 reviews.
Writer and director Greta Gerwig told the website:
“This is completely amazing and so incredibly appreciated by the entire team that made Lady Bird.
"We put our heart and souls into this movie, and the last step of this deeply collaborative art form of filmmaking is giving the film to the audience and the film critics.
"That there has been such a warm reception is a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who has seen the film and has written about it so thoughtfully.

This is a phenomenal achievement for Carlow girl Ronan and at only 23-years-old there really is no limit to what she can achieve in Hollywood.
