No Biggie – Just The Highest Rated Movie Of All Time Is On Irish TV Tonight

Much like Lansdowne Road and the Aviva Stadium as well as the Point Theatre and the 3 Arena, sometimes it’s hard for the public to get used to new names for our favourite things.

Take Virgin Media One for example. In the couple of weeks since it changed from TV3, it still feels weird typing the updated version. However, if the channel keeps churning out quality content like this, it won’t be long before it gains a life of its own.

Tonight sees the screening of The Shawshank Redemption AKA the highest-ranking movie on IMDB’s Top 250 Titles list, where it has sat on top since overtaking The Godfather in 2008.

If for some reason you haven’t seen it, it’s still one of those movies where everyone and their granny knows the general gist. Man gets jailed for murders he didn’t commit, man gets taken under Morgan Freeman’s wing on the inside, man hatches epic prison escape plan, yadda yadda yadda.

Hey, the whole world can’t be wrong can they? The Shawshank Redemption gets underway on TV3, sorry, Virgin Media One at 9pm tonight.
