This New Irish Comedy Is Being Called ‘Dumb & Dumber Meets Love/Hate’

Sarah

A new Irish thriller/comedy film is making waves for its impressive production – despite being made on a strict budget of €252.76.

The Lads, which features three eh, lads, who get caught up in a bit of a dodge situation, was made by a group of childhood friends, who made the movie in their spare time over the last couple of years.

It recently showed at The Reel Film Festival in Cork where it took home the award of runner-up feature film, and received some serious praise.

This is a “Dark Comedy about three friends Fionn, Paul and Scott who are pure Irish lads (someone you probably know), living it up- but then end up getting them selves into a situation with some dangerous people. They spend some money that belongs to gangsters which the gangsters then want back…

“Watch these three idiots fight for survival, and are willing to do what it takes to get that money back.”

Director Ian Adams told Lovin.ie that “every person acting or helping out in this film are childhood friends and have been making these movies on their own time”.

They’re hoping to have cinema screenings over the next few weeks in Ireland, so stay tuned to their Facebook Page for news…
