It looks to us like this could be one of the Irish movies of the year.

Maze tells the true story of how 38 IRA prisoners escaped the notorious Maze Prison in Co. Down in 1983, at the height of The Troubles in the North.

The film stars Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, who stunned audiences with an amazing performance as Nidge in RTÉ crime drama Love/Hate, as Larry Marley, one of the masterminds of the escape bid.

The movie is directed by Stephen Burke and hits Irish cinemas on September 22. It looks feckin' brilliant and we can't wait to see it. You can check out the trailer below.
