WATCH: The Rubberbandits’ New Song On Suicide Is A Hard-Hitting Must-See

Sarah

The Rubberbandits have increasingly become known less for their masked antics, and more for speaking out about issues close to the hearts of many young (and old) Irish people.

They’ve spoken publicly on the importance of reducing the stigma around mental health, on the Repeal the 8th movement, and about Ireland’s suicide epidemic.

Using their popularity among young people, the Rubberbandits have become the voice of a generation that’s often ignored, and their latest video, ‘Sonny’, which was released today is as usual perfectly on point.

Tackling the subject of suicide, the video’s lyrics will be in your head all day, with lines such as “hard to be a burden when you’re walking on air”, and “what he has is a problem, not a fucking disease”, particularly poignant.

Give this a watch, and set aside a few minutes to have a think…

Anyone affected by issues raised in the video can avail of free, non-judgmental advice and help here.

Bravo to the Rubberbandits for bringing vital issues to the forefront time and time again.
