Normal People has no shortage of supporters but James Corden has just marked himself as somewhat of a superfan, lavishing praise on the series and dubbing the the “best show” he’s watched in a long time.

The long-awaited TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People premiered late last month and it’s been setting tongues wagging around the world ever since.

Telling the complicated love story of Connell and Marianne, the series stars Kildare newcomer Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones. A number of high profile faces have been singing the series’ praises – including Niall Horan who claims he “might love Marianne” and now James Corden who had nothing but good things to say.

Taking to Twitter, James wrote:

“Underplaying the impact of Normal People on @hulu has had on me for just a moment. I honestly think it may have changed my life. It’s the best show I’ve watched in so long. @DaisyEdgarJones and @mescal_paul are extraordinary. It’s ALL extraordinary x”

Paul thanked the Late Late Show host in the comments, even retweeting James and writing:

“WTF IS HAPPENING!!!”

The Irish man may be shocked at the response, but we’re not – it’s every bit as good as the book (which you should most definitely add to your read-list if you haven’t already).
