Love Island winner Finley Tapp is thankful for the way that Love Island producers delicately broke the news of the tragic death of Caroline Flack.

Caroline Flack passed away on February 15 and the decision was made to hold off on telling the islanders until the day they left the villa.

The islanders who were eliminated between February 15 and February 23 were told when their time on Love Island came to an end, while the eight finalists were told right before the final.

Finn Tapp, who won the winter edition of Love Island along with girlfriend Paige Turley, has admitted that the couple were grateful for the way that the news was broken to them.

“We were told just before the final,” Finn told The Sun. “They wanted to tell us at the best time and the best way and we’re thankful that they did that.

“We remember her fondly. We loved her as a fan watching it on telly over the past few series, that’s the relationship we had with her.”

Paige echoed her boyfriend’s devastation and offered the couple’s condolences to the family of the long-time presenter of Love Island.

Paige added: “Everybody knew how much she loved Love Island. It’s such a sensitive subject, we just send love to Caroline’s family.”
