The Top 20 Most Watched Programmes On Irish TV In 2016 Have Been Revealed

TAM Ireland/Nielsen have revealed the top 20 most watched TV programmes from 2016 on Irish TV. 

While a clear sporting theme shines through, not even the Boys in Green could topple the Late Late Toy Show from the top spot. 

Ryan Tubridy's annual festive special pulled in a whopping 1.57m viewers on average throughout the broadcast, a huge 76.18% of the audience. 

The second, third and fourth spots were all taken up by the Republic of Ireland's EURO 2016 heroics. with their matches agaist France (1.26m), Italy (1.23m) and Sweden (1.08m) raking in the viewers. 

The sports theme continued with the both the drawn All-Ireland football final between Dublin and Mayo, that game's replay and the All-Ireland hurling final between Tipperary and Kilkenny all featuring in the top 10.
