WATCH: Attenborough’s ‘The Blue Planet’ Is Back And Looks Absolutely Breathtaking

James Fenton

In an age where people complain that there’s never anything on ‘normal telly’ along comes David Attenborough to blow us all of out of the water (pun intended, no apologies).

After the roaring success of Planet Earth II last year, The Blue Planet II will air this year 16 years after the original series left viewers mesmerised.

Showcasing life under the deep blue sea, the sheer vastness of the Earth’s oceans is set to have viewers as spellbound as the rest of Attenborough’s back catalogue usually does.

If an array of gigantic sea creatures and Attenborough’s unquestionable talents aren’t enough to entice you then the news that legendary composer Hans Zimmer is signed up to provide the music should seal the deal.

No date have been confirmed for the programme but we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
