While Ireland seemed to win the Eurovision every week back in the 90s, April 30 1994 stands out in the memory who anyone who was around to see it.

It was the night when Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan clinched Ireland's third successive victory with 'Rock And Roll Kids', as families across the nation sang along from their living rooms.

The simple ballad has become iconic as an antidote to the razzmatazz and auto-tuning of modern winners.

Harrington appeared on The Late Late Show's Eurovision special last night ahead of the 2017 edition in Kiev next week and led guests and the audience in rousing rendition of the number and it was a real blast of nostalgia.
