Paige Turley is rumoured to star in Love Island

The first islander rumoured to be entering the Love Island villa may be responsible for one of the most popular songs of the last decade.

According to a report from The Sun, an ex-girlfriend of Lewis Capaldi will feature on the upcoming series of Love Island.

The Sun state that former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Paige Turley will be heading to Cape Town for the winter version of the popular dating show, which begins on January 12.

Paige is said to have inspired Lewis Capaldi’s number one hit, Someone You Loved, after the pair dated while at college.

Paige, who sang on Britain’s Got Talent eight years ago at the age of 14, is currently single and is apparently going to be looking for love on the first Laura Whitmore-hosted Love Island.

The Sun’s source said: “She’s the girl. The song and his album is clearly inspired by love and he loved her — he really did.

“Paige dated Lewis while they were both at college from around 2014 to 2016. They were on and off and together just over a year. It’s funny that his songs now mean so much to so many. But the real story behind it is boy meets girl.

“She must be thrilled she helped inspire such beautiful music.”
