Annalise Murphy, Ireland’s newest Olympic silver medallist, has sailed right into our hearts with her sheer determination, unbelievable skill and beaming smile. 

Celebrations have been happening all week in Rio for the Dublin native, with a distinct effort being made by all the Irish over there to make her feel more at home than ever. 

Rumour has it that choruses of ‘We Love You Murphy, We Do’, have been heard all across the land ever since she crossed the finish line of the medal race – with a healthy dose of ‘The Fields of Athenry’ added in for good measure. 

Annalise returns to Ireland this week, after her triumphant return to the Olympics this year – bagging a silver medal in the Women’s Laser Radial Sailing.
