In a video posted to the FAI twitter page, Ava can be seen reacting to the news that she has been chosen as a mascot for the upcoming Ireland versus Ukraine game.

Not just any mascot though as she’ll get to lead the women’s team out onto the field. That news would turn anyone’s hump day right around.
Ava was picked thanks to a competition run by the 20×20 campaign, a campaign that aims to shift Ireland’s cultural perception of women’s sport by 2020.
And judging by Ava’s reaction, I’d say that the campaign is certainly on the right track.
