If you were old enough to experience the madness of Italia ’90, count yourself lucky. If you weren’t, we’re sure you’ve heard the stories.

Now, 27 years later, a short film is being released documenting an Irish football supporter’s dilemma when his partner goes into labour during the most important match in Irish football history. 

A Nation Holds Its Breath, a title which refers to commentator George Hamilton’s famous words before Bonner’s save, will premiere at the Dublin Film Festival later this month and we’ve got the trailer for you here:

The clip suggests a delightful mix of humour, emotion and of course a great big dollop of nostalgia and we can’t wait to see it.
