Andrew Lloyd Webber has written a tribute song to Jackie Weaver and yes, you absolutely need to drop everything and listen to it now.

Jackie Weaver took the internet by storm last week when a leaked recording of the Wandforth parish council meeting went seriously viral online. Making her somewhat of a household name, her antics even grabbed the attention of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber who has since penned a song in her honour.

One of the guests on Good Morning Britain earlier today, Webber told presenters that he was as captivated by the clip as the rest of us. Falling victim to a spout of boredom over the weekend, it resulted in the talented composer penning a tribute song to the now-famous Jackie Weaver… and it’s actually pretty decent. Not that we’d expect anything less of the musical mastermind but it’s fairly impressive considering he just ‘threw it together’ for lack of something else to do.

Commenting that the council meeting was “sort of operatic”, Webber admitted that the song started out as a joke. “It was just a laugh. I was doing nothing on a Sunday afternoon,” he said.

As for the possibility of a Jackie Weaver musical? We wouldn’t rule it out just yet. According to Webber: “You never know!”

Sharing the song with followers over on Instagram, Webber dedicated it to the woman of the hour – adding “we all love you”.

That one council meeting definitely provides enough fodder for the guts of a musical – one we’d pay good money to see.
