Danny O'Reilly covers The Cranberries

Volume 12 of Danny O’Reilly’s self-isolation covers is here.

Like much of the country, Danny O’Reilly has been isolating at home the past few weeks. Down in Dingle in Co. Kerry, The Coronas frontman has been keeping himself (and us) entertained by posting covers of popular Irish songs on Instagram.

With everything put on hold for the time being, including both the band’s album and all upcoming UK and US tours, Danny is using the time to “play around” with music from some of the band’s favourite Irish acts.

So far, Danny has covered songs from the likes of Sorcha Richardson, Luke Kelly, Niall Horan, Picture This and Bell X1, bringing us up to volume 12 and his rendition of The Cranberries’ tune Linger.

Posting to Instagram, Danny introduces the song saying:

“Hey guys, hope you had a good weekend. I’m back to doing my nightly Irish covers and tonight I’m going to do a song from a band that my mother brought me to see when I was about 12 in the old Point Depot.

I was totally obsessed with them and I still love them today. This is The Cranberries and Linger.”

Danny’s cover went down a treat, with some claiming it’s the “best one yet”. The band has also found time for a little self-promotion too though, playing their new single LA at Night – and judging by the reaction, the rest of the album will be a roaring success.

Stay tuned for another Danny O’Reilly isolation cover tonight.
