Oh Ellen, we always knew you were a dote - but this has taken the biscuit. 

The Medal of Freedom ceremony brought some pretty big names to the White House last night. The award is the highest civilian honour given by the White House.

And who was one of the lucky ones being awarded alongside Diana Ross, Space Jam and Tom Hanks?

Everyone's favourite TV show host - Ms. Ellen DeGeneres!

The absolute pet started crying at about the same time Barack mentioned that she has taught a generation of Americans to "just keep swimming." 

No we're not crying, you're crying. 

Massive congrats to everyone involved - what an incredible honour.
