All those nights dancing in Coppers appear to have paid off.
Members of An Garda Síochána have been working hard during the pandemic by ensuring people are adhering to travel restrictions and regrettably having to break up the odd house party, among other things.
Still, some have found time to get the practice in for the Jerusalema Challenge, which was put to them by their colleagues in the Swiss Police back in January. The viral challenge requires participants to perform a routine to the song Jerusalema by South African DJ Master KG and to say the Gardaí knocked it out of the park would be doing them a disservice.
A short clip was shared to the Garda social media accounts today and features officers getting involved from Dublin to Kerry and everywhere in between. Have a look at the clip for yourself below…
We have stepped up to the Swiss police @fedpolCH #JerusalemaChallenge. Gardaí across Ireland answered the call to give the public we serve a lift in these challenging times. #StayTogether #homeStaySafe pic.twitter.com/sbLdkk54hB
