James Fenton

It was a big day for Craig Casey on Saturday, making his debut with the eyes of the world fixed upon him, ready to pounce on any mistake he made.

And as well as his musical initiation into the Ireland rugby squad, he also made his first appearance for Ireland on the pitch. Craig Casey came off the bench during Ireland’s Six Nations victory of Italy but it’s arguable that this milestone wasn’t even the most nerve-wracking part of his day.

Extra points to the 21-year-old for knowing that when you sing Careless Whisper, you do not skip the instrumental parts. Have a look at Casey’s impressive take on the George Michael classic below…

A little bit ropey on the high notes but there’s still time in the 21-year-old’s career to put that right.
