This almost sounds like it picks up right where Sex & The City almost left off…
Darren Star never has to work again if he didn’t feel like it. The producer behind Sex & The City, Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210, he pretty much ruled all of TV for the better part of a decade.
Thankfully for fans of those shows, he hasn’t decided to retire just yet, as he has teamed up with Netflix for his new series Emily In Paris.
It tells the story of Emily (Lily Collins), an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago, who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris. Emily’s new life is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances.
Now…. doesn’t that almost sound like when Carrie was about to spend the rest of her life in Paris? Actually, didn’t Rachel in Friends do the same thing? And wasn’t there a big Paris trip involved in The Devil Wears Prada when Anne Hathaway decided this wasn’t the life she wanted after all? We’re sensing a trend here…
All ten episodes of Emily In Paris will debut on Netflix from Friday October 2nd, and you can check out the trailer for the show right here:
