Peter Crouch hasn’t even retired as a footballer yet and he’s already carving out a career as a top-class craic merchant.
He’s written a book, hosts a BBC podcast and his easy-going nature generally appears to be endearing him to the public. Last night though, the 38-year-old’s gift of the gab raised a few eyebrows on The Graham Norton Show.
Recalling a meeting with Prince Harry a few years back, the former England star told stand-in host Jack Whitehall that the royal enquired as to how he ended up with his wife Abbey Clancy by asking “Crouchy… How did you bag Abbey?”
Amid laughs from the audience, Peter went on to say “that was pre-Meghan so I could have a go back at him to be fair!”
Crouchy and Hazza, just a couple of lads having the craic. As Whitehall pointed out, “there goes Crouchy’s knighthood.”
