Throughout the video, Pierce Brosnan can be heard rhyming off the things he loves about our fair country – and it’s quite an extensive list.

Former 007 actor Pierce Brosnan is the star of a new Irish tourism video. Part of a collaboration between Tourism Ireland and the Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA), the clip aims to help internationally showcase our lovely emerald isle.

Questioning “what’s not to love about Ireland?”, the short 55-second clip features several stunning panoramic views of well-known Irish sights, with Brosnan’s dulcet tones providing the voiceover.

“This tiny island that has shown the greatest gift of poetry and storytelling. I love the Kerry coastline, I love the Ring of Kerry. My father Tom Brosnan was a Kerry man, so I try to go back there as often as I can.”

Later considering what it is he misses most about Ireland, the former Bond star wasted no time in answering: “It’s the people. The sheer stamina and life force of Irish people from this great, beautiful landscape.”

A Navan man through and through, Brosnan left Ireland when he was just a boy, explaining:

“I’m a Navan man, Co Meath. I left Ireland when I was a boy – I was 11 – so, over these many decades now going back, there’s always something great to discover.”

I won’t lie, the below video has me dreaming of summer staycations in the sun.

Let’s hope the weather holds out for us, eh?!
