WATCH: Robbie Keane’s son has enough of pre-match formalities and heads for goal

With a dad who made a career out of hitting that back of the net, it’s no surprise that little Hudson Keane has inherited his old man’s nose for goal.

The youngest son of Robbie Keane was handed the role of mascot alongside his older brother Robert Jr. ahead of Middlesbrough’s F.A. Cup third round tie against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. The boys’ father is currently assistant manager to Jonathan Woodgate at Boro and ahead of the game against Robbie’s old club, the youngsters took part in some pre-match formalities which included posing for photos with the captains and officials.

Earlier this week, some fan footage emerged of what happened next but Robbie’s wife Claudine has now shared the clip in full on her Instagram. It shows the group with their game faces on before Hudson takes it upon himself to run for the ball and make his way towards goal, where he duly hits the target much like his dad in his pomp.

You can take a look at the clip below and be sure to swipe across for Hudson’s thoughts in his post-match press conference as well a pep talk from older brother Robert…

Side point – isn’t Robert adorable hanging out with his favourite Spurs player Son Heung-Min? A memorable day out for the whole Keane family and they’ll get to do it all again at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium when the two sides replay their drawn match next Tuesday.
