After much anticipation, the creative team at John Lewis are back with another one of their now traditional Christmas ads.
Having used the music of Elton John in 2018 and the likes of Oasis, Keane and Elbow in years previously, this time they’ve gone for the stylings of American rock band REO Speedwagon.
The band’s 1985 power ballad I Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore provides the soundtrack to the misadventures of Excitable Edgar, a young dragon who struggles to control his fiery breath. We’ve all been there, right?
It has to be said, he’s a fairly adorable little fella and you can see everything he gets up to in the 2019 John Lewis Christmas advert below…

Not a bad auld effort all the same. Since the John Lewis Christmas ads first starting airing in 2007, they’ve all gone on to divide opinion, some more so than others. This one won’t be any different but the general consensus online seems to be that it’s an improvement on the last few years.
