The movie version Broadway musical Hamilton premieres on Disney+ early next month.
Show bosses announced that the movie version of hit Broadway musical Hamilton would be dropping on Disney+ this July – 15 months ahead of schedule. Usually top of the list when it comes to shows people want to see on the stage, this is the next best thing to an in-real-life performance of the production – especially given the current circumstances.
Taking the form of a live-capture recording of the show, the movie was captured over three live performances back in 2016 and features the show’s original cast. Telling the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton, the musical’s online release coincides with the American Independence Day weekend.
Sharing a sneak peek of what’s to come, the official trailer has dropped online and it looks insanely good.
Commenting on the news that Hamilton will soon be available to stream around the world, Executive Chairman for Disney, said:
