WATCH: The first trailer for Irish crime comedy Pixie looks like Snatch set in Sligo

Rory Cashin

You need to watch this trailer for Pixie just to hear Alec Baldwin’s impeccable Irish accent.

Before we go into the plot of Pixie at all, first we need to take a look at this hugely impressive cast list.

Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Colm Meaney (The Snapper), Dylan Moran (Black Books), Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody), Ned Dennehy (Dublin Murders), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Chris Walley (The Young Offenders), Pat Shortt (Father Ted), and even more besides.

Pixie was filmed all along the picturesque northern coasts of Ireland, and it tells the story of the titular character (Cooke) wants to avenge her mother’s death by masterminding a heist, but plans go sideways and she soon finds herself on the run with two young men (Hardy, McCormack) who are way out of their depth being chased across the wild Irish countryside by gangsters.

The trailer itself looks pretty high energy, but the highlight has got to be watching Alec Baldwin, as a violent Irish priest, in a Mexican stand off with Colm Meaney’s gang leader. You just don’t see that every day in Irish movies, and we couldn’t be happier that it is something that now exists.

Pixie is due to be released in Irish cinemas on Friday 23 October, and you can check out the brand new trailer right here:
