WATCH: The first trailer for the return of the Animaniacs is here

Rory Cashin

And they’re bringing back Pinky & The Brain with them!

Originally running for 99 episodes from 1993 to 1998, grown-ups of a certain age will no doubt think back on The Animaniacs with nostaliga.

But surely they weren’t as funny and original and satirical as we remember them, right?

Surely this kids show didn’t have one of the most risque one-liners in TV history?

Well…

Yep, just as great as we remembered.

You’ll be happy to hear that they’re coming back very soon, and announced their revival with an inspired Jurassic Park-themed trailer, with executive producer Steven Spielberg as the “park” creator, and Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum’s characters all reacting to their return with awe.

There will be 13 episodes in the initial run, and another 13 set for the already confirmed second season, due to arrive in 2021.

The new episodes are set to premiere on Hulu in the States on Friday, November 20. Some Hulu shows – The Handmaid’s Tale, Little Fires Everywhere, PEN15 – have been made available on this side of the Atlantic, so we can but hope that’ll be the case here, too!
