WATCH: The new thriller series from the creator of You looks fantastic

Take the first look at your next binge-watch.

It wasn’t really until You arrived on Netflix that it took off, and the world could realise at their own speed about the twists and turns of “Joe” and the terrible things he does to any woman unlucky enough for him to fall in love with.

With the third season of that show currently in production and due for release some time in 2021, there is a new show from You’s producer that could fill the void while we await the return of Joe and that mysterious new neighbour. More than that though, this new show looks like it could be even more entertaining.

The Flight Attendant tells the story of Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco), a flight attendant who starts a bit of a holiday romance with one of her rich passengers (Michiel Huisman). After spending the night together, she wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with her new beau dead beside her – and she has no idea what happened. When questioned by FBI agents and still unable to piece the night together, she begins to wonder if she could be the killer.

It is a great set-up for a murder-mystery, and the writers and directors of the episodes really lean in to the Hitchcock aspect of it all. Additionally, while we all know Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory, she is given a lot more to do here, as her character slowly reveals her alcohol dependancy may have played a big part in the death, and she appears to be haunted by the victim long after he has died.

The show also has the bright and propulsive vibe that we all loved from You – a dark thriller with a sense of humour, while always moving forward, always making you want to watch the next episode as soon as possible.

The Flight Attendant premieres in the States from Friday, November 26, and while there is no set release date in Ireland just yet, we’d expect to see it on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV before too long…
