Apple has unveiled a new version of its MacBook Pro laptop featuring a touchscreen bar at the top of the keyboard which includes a fingerprint scanner.
Called the Touch Bar, the newer, slimmer display adapts the controls it shows to the application a user is working in. So, favourites and bookmarks now appear when the Safari browser is opened, and editing tools when viewing photos.
Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanning technology is another one of the newer features on the Touch Bar.
With this, you can complete payments using Apple Pay. The bar can also be customised by the user to show the controls they use most frequently.
What a time to be alive.
The new MacBook Pro will come in both 13-inch(£1,749 / €1954.04) and 15-inch (£2,349 / €2624.38) sizes and in silver and space grey colour finishes.
For those of you looking for an upgrade, but not sold by the Touch Bar, Apple also revealed that a more traditional version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro which still retains the physical function keys is also available. This will cost (£1,449 / €1618.87).
Just in time for Christmas, eh?
